TNERC in their Tariff Order dated 11.8.2017, has done some good and more harm

Good, first. Yes, they have at last announced a time line for phasing out Cross subsidy. But 10 years, is it not too much time for phasing out? Bad is, there is no clear commitment that beyond 10 years CSS would cease to exist

Second good thing, is that there is a directive that says they should file a return every year and keep TNERC updated. Bad is, there is no punishment if they do not file!

Other bad-s are: Transmission losses go up if your generator it is at a higher voltage and you are a lower voltage. Matching voltage attracts less losses even if it is just 11 kv. Higher to lower or lower to higher, attract high losses; as high as 9% plus.
